The Michigan Grand Slam is a term that has been used informally for a long time in Michigan. It refers to the entry into the record books of the four Michigan game animals that CBM recognizes, all entered by a single hunter. Those four animals are deer, bear, elk and turkeys.

The accomplishment has always been considered so rare that it has remained informal. The basic challenge of drawing a limited bear and especially a bull elk tag seemed tough enough. Add to that the ability of not only harvesting those animals but taking record book caliber trophies seemed insurmountable. But, it has miraculously now been achieved by a number of hunters.

CBM’s Board of Directors has decided to establish the Michigan Grand Slam as an official category. It will be listed in chronological order by completion by the hunter as opposed to a high score because of the combination of different scores involved.
